FAQ

What does Viollet do?

+

Viollet turns bank email notifications into categorized transactions, budgets, account activity, and financial insights.

Is this a replacement for my bank app?

+

No. Your bank app remains the source of truth. Viollet organizes the notifications your bank already sends.

Can Viollet categorize transactions automatically?

+

Yes. Viollet extracts transaction details and applies practical categories that can be corrected and improved over time.

Can I review the original bank notification?

+

Yes. The app is designed around email traceability so you can verify the notification behind a transaction.

Does Viollet support budgets and goals?

+

Yes. Viollet connects organized transactions to budgets, spending views, and savings goals.

Which banks are supported?

+

Viollet supports institutions that send parseable transaction notifications by email. The banks page shows the configured catalog.

Do you read my personal email?

+

Viollet is designed to process authorized financial notifications, not personal conversations or unrelated email.

Can you support a bank that is not listed?

+

Potentially. If the institution sends transaction notifications by email, Viollet can evaluate the sender and format for support.

Are only Dominican banks supported?

+

The initial catalog focuses strongly on Dominican institutions, but the model works with any institution that sends parseable transaction notifications.

What if my bank changes its email format?

+

Processing may need an update. The advantage is that support can be adjusted at the email parsing layer without direct bank credentials.

Do I share bank credentials?

+

No. Viollet does not ask for bank usernames or passwords.

How does the trial work?

+

You can test the beta for 30 days with a trial email allowance before choosing a paid plan.

Can I revoke access?

+

Yes. You can disconnect Gmail, change selected institutions, or stop forwarding notifications.

Why not connect directly to my bank?

+

Viollet avoids bank credential sharing. It works from notification emails because that keeps the access model narrower.

What does Viollet store?

+

Viollet stores the data needed to show transactions, categories, accounts, budgets, and source context for your financial workflow.
